Welcome to the Central Psychiatric Society

Indian Psychiatric Society (IPS) is the largest body of Psychiatrists in India. To facilitate its functioning throughout our country in a uniform manner, IPS has assigned five zonal branches viz East, West, North, South and Central.

IPS, Central Zonal Branch comprises four states: Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.  IPS, Central zone is officially registered with the name Central Psychiatric Society (CPS).

History

Central Psychiatric Society was established back in the year 1974 by our Founding President, Dr. B.B. Sethi and Founding General Secretary, Dr. A.K. Agarwal, Founding Editor, Dr. Indira Sharma for public awareness and welfare. First Zonal Coordinator to IPS were Dr. O.N. Shrivastava, Dr. B.B. Sethi. The Society is registered under Reg. no. 3089/2018.

The constitution of CPS is it’s soul. The constitution of CPS is the most important document of this organisation, mentioning the rules and bye-laws of the CPS. Each word of our constitution carries a meaning and can not be changed without the opinion of the executive committee and AGBM
